|HL-LHC: High Luminosity Large Hadron Collider
HiLumi LHC is part of an overall project that will federate efforts and R&D of a large community towards the ambitious HL-LHC luminosity upgrade of the LHC. HiLumi LHC involves participants from outside the European Research Area (ERA), in particular leading US and Japanese laboratories, which will facilitate the implementation of the construction phase as a global project.
|TIARA: Test Infrastructure and Accelerator Research Area
The main objective of TIARA is the integration of national and international accelerator R&D infrastructures into a single distributed European accelerator R&D facility. This will include the implementation of organisational structures to combine existing individual infrastructures, ensuring their efficient operation and upgrades, and the construction of new infrastructures as part of TIARA.
|CLIC:Compact Linear Collider
CLIC is a study for a future electron-positron collider that allows physicists to explore a new energy region in the multi TeV range beyond the capabilities of today's particle accelerators. It would provide significant fundamental physics information complementary to the LHC and a lower-energy linear e+/e- collider, as a result of its unique combination of high energy and experimental precision.
|FAIR: Facility for Antiproton and Ion Research
In Darmstadt, Germany, a new international accelerator complex, FAIR , eventually based on eight rings and two linear colliders, is under construction for its first phase. Its goal is to gain new insight into nuclear matter by providing ion beams at the intensity frontier, and increased energy, brilliance and beam power.
|FCC : Future Circular Collider
The Future Circular Collider (FCC) design study explores options for accelerator projects in a global context, with emphasis on proton-proton and electron-positron high-energy frontier machines. These design studies are coupled to a vigorous accelerator R&D programme, including high-field magnets and high-gradient accelerating structures, in collaboration with national institutes, laboratories and universities worldwide.
|ILC: International Linear Collider
The International Linear Collider will give physicists a new cosmic doorway to explore energy regimes beyond the reach of today's accelerators. The proposed electron-positron collider will complement the LHC. In 2013, the International Linear Collider and the Compact Linear Collider (CLIC) merge to form one Linear Collider Collaboration.
|Laserlab: The Integrated Initiative of European Laser Research Infrastructures
Laserlab-Europe is in the third phase of its successful cooperation: the Consortium now brings together 28 leading organisations in laser-based inter-disciplinary research from 16 countries. Together with associate partners, Laserlab covers the majority of European member states. 20 facilities offer access to their labs for European research teams.
